Augustana Students’ Association held AGM on Oct. 26

The ASA Budget, the Augustana Land Bank, and the New Augustana Calendar were addressed during the ASA’s AGM on Oct. 26, which included pizza for all in attendance.

Upcoming events including the off-campus supper (Nov. 3), Augustana’s Got Talent (Nov. 5), and the International Student Potluck (Nov. 9) were high on the list of topics for the night. More details on events are available on the ASA Facebook page.

ASA President Ben Curry gave a report regarding the Land Bank, the area East of the soccer field, which has recently been acquired by Augustana. New development ideas are being discussed such as a new dorm to accommodate 35-40 students with a possible co-ed living situation and partial meal plan. Other ideas include new student spaces and the possibility of a pub.

Further questions or ideas for development of the Land Bank can be directed to ASA President Ben Curry.

Curry also reported on the current forming of a committee, in partnership with Rez Life, to review the campus Alcohol Policy. Main Campus is reviewing their policy as well.

The 2016 ASA Budget was laid out and met with questions. A breakdown of the budget is available from the ASA and will be posted online. Questions regarding the ASA budget can be directed to VP Finance Danisha Suchak.

The New Augustana Calendar, previously known as 3-11, was brought up during the discussion period and Councillors addressed questions. It was noted that drafted schedules have been made for course offerings but are not finalized due to the need for approval from North campus.
